Belle Skylights were recently chosen to upgrade the heritage listed glazed roofs over the main lap pool and program pool at the iconic Melbourne City Baths. The Intalok glazing system was chosen due to its thin section, structural glazing bar with an integral drainage channel and captive gaskets. In conjunction with Cassisi Architects, Belle Skylights designed a system to satisfy the requirements of the City of Melbourne and Heritage Victoria to supply a modern glass roof that faithfully reproduced the original design from the 1860’s.
The original design manually openable skylights were replaced with VELUX VSE Electric skylights that were sympathetically integrated into the design of the glass roof to provide ventilation as required.
